'Foaming Mad' - The Cost of your Anger
Thu, 11/24/2011 - 12:53 — Lorraine Marx
How would you feel if your local DIY store refused to give you a refund for a faulty can of foam? Would you get angry, or could you walk away? The Daily Telegraph reports that customer Paul Waterland (45) exorcised his anger, by spraying the faulty foam can in the store.
Clearly out of control, he then assulted the store manager Mr Knowles and a female Police Officer. The final cost to Mr Waterland ........ 200 hours of unpaid community work and a supervison order.
What was the trigger for the angry episode? The customer's sense of unfairness, his need to be respected, his need to be heard? The cause for this angry episode may have started days earlier with something totally unrelated, the can of foam was simply the final straw that broke the camels back.
How does Mr Waterland feel now? I can only imagine he wishes he had just purchased another can, so much cheaper than the final price of his anger. Remember anger doesn't go away, eventually it will explode if you don't deal with it. SORT IT before it's too late.
Merchant Seaman attacked by Naval Rating

I was shocked to read the article in the Portsmouth Evening News (13/8/10) regarding the Sailor attacking Sam Wait, though sadly not surprised to read the list of shame. It is such a tragedy when a young person's life is effected by such an act of stupidity.

As well as specialising in Anger Management, I have also been trained by ADDACTION with regard to substance mis-use. I understand how alcohol causes young people to act more aggressively and in ways they would not consider if they were sober.
Please look at the article and judge for yourself. I feel we have a huge problem that needs to be tackled, so............ if you feel you need help, or maybe this article has provoked a reaction in you, please let us know your point of view, or contact us on the number provided.
